The Stardust Kid

TONE:

A comedy drama, set in the 1960's. This is a film about rock music, glamour, drugs, and the price of fame. Similar in style and tone to BACKBEAT and THE DOORS, with the visual look and feel of THE ROSE and A STAR IS BORN (the second version).

Soul Mates

TONE:

Romantic comedy, set in primarily in London, with interior scenes in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, during the 1960's. A combination of trendy, screwball comedies from the period like There's a Girl in My Soup and What's New Pussycat, with a more modern look and psychic overtones.

The Sewing Club

TONE:

Contemporary womens' ensemble story, set in Northern California. Similar in style to THE FIRST WIVES' CLUB and BOYS ON THE SIDE, but with a technical look close to that of STEEL MAGNOLIAS and HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN QUILT. There should be a sharp contrast between the world of Emma and the Sewing Club and that of Chelsea and the computer hacker/slackers.

The Imposters

TONE:

Romantic comedy, set in New York City in 1984 (some interior scenes set in London). Similar in style to 80's period films like THE WEDDING SINGER and DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN, but with a feel of mistaken identity romantic comedies like HOME FRIES and AUTUMN TALE .

Douglasse et Regine

TONE:

A madcap comedy set in Paris during the early 1930's. Similar in style and tone to VICTOR/VICTORIA and 60's comedies like WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT? and many of Woody Allen's earlier works. Filming should show the high life, the joys and lows, resembling movies like SCANDAL and DOROTHY PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE.

Choices

TONE:

Romantic drama set in current day Marin County, Los Angeles and London. Similar in style and pacing to SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT and NOBODY'S FOOL with a technical look similar to THE PLAYER.

The Chocolate Spy

TONE:

A romantic/spy comedy set during World War II. Lighthearted against a grim background of war -- similar in style and pacing to VICTOR/VICTORIA and DARLING LILI, with the nostalgic feel of THE ENGLISHMAN WHO WENT UP A HILL BUT CAME DOWN A MOUNTAIN.
